Highest Digestibility — Most Usable Energy — Less Cost to Feed

The needs of older or less active adult cats change as they age. A reduced activity level and slower metabolism may require fewer calories or less fat. Flint River Ranch's Lite Adult Cat food is a complete and balanced formula to meet these special needs. This food is not intended for kittens because they are never overweight and don't require a reduced-fat diet.

Beet pulp is by far the best source of fiber. It does a better job of moving the nutrients through the digestive systems and acts as a calming base for forming the stool in the colon. Vitamins, minerals, and nutrients are first digested in the stomach, then absorbed into the blood through the intestinal walls. If those walls are covered with slime/mucus, absorption of these life-sustaining nutrients is reduced. Beet pulp gently massages intestinal walls, removing the mucus and aiding in the bowel movement.

Our chicken meal and other meat sources do not contain poultry by-products or other by-products like chicken feet, chicken heads, duck beaks, feathers, hides, hoofs, and intestines. The use of low-quality products and synthetic preservatives may be associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease, poor health, and degenerative organ dysfunction.

Diseases of the lower urinary tract (FLUTD, FUS) occur frequently in cats. A common cause of the disease is struvite urinary crystals; typically a diet that promotes the formation of urine that is acidic and that is low in magnesium is recommended for this condition. Flint River Ranch Senior Lite Cat Food has a magnesium level of 0.08% and a target urinary pH of 6.2. Fresh, clean water is essential in preventing urinary crystals and for general good health; cats often prefer to have water available in several locations. Also, keep litter boxes clean, and keep stress levels low.

Feeding Guide:

Adult cats should be fed twice a day. Your cat should be looking for food when the next meal is due. Teach them to eat at meal times. The amount your cat eats in 15-20 minutes is about the amount they should be fed at that meal. Adjust the food as you notice increase or decrease in the animal's weight.

Weight Feeding Amount per Day
3-5 lbs. 1/4 to 1/2 Cup
5-10 lbs. 1/2 to 1 Cup
10-15 lbs. 1 to 1 1/3 Cup

Fresh water should be available at all times. Maintaining fresh, clean water is as important for your cat as the type of food fed.
