Flint River Ranch Super Premium Senior PLUS Kibble Dog Food is formulated for dogs that require a lower-protein diet. Your veterinarian may recommend such a diet for dogs with certain health concerns, such as compromised kidneys. When comparing the nutritional value of foods, it's important to take into account the moisture content of the food; this is referred to as the dry matter basis. The protein level of this food on a dry matter basis is 20%.
With a patented process, our Flint River Ranch Senior Oven-baked Kibble has been formulated with a wholesome and rich source of Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate that helps maintain healthy joint cartilage and alleviate joint pain.
This is a functional food, rather than the traditional oral pill form, that may serve to inhibit cartilage degradation by helping to stimulate the body's ability to produce more GAG'S (glycosaminoglycans). The glucosamine supplementation may help by lubricating the joints for proper functioning. It is not a substitute for professional treatment, but a supportive means to assist with canine discomfort.
Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are substances found naturally in the body. Glucosamine is a form of amino sugar that is believed to play a role in cartilage formation and repair. Feeding Guide
Because the Kibble is high density, you feed 20%-25% less than other foods. Each serving delivers maximum nutrition without fillers, so you'll also notice a lower stool volume and less clean-up. It's best to introduce a Super Premium food by mixing it with your dog's usual food and increasing the amount of Flint River Ranch over several days. It will take time for your dog to adjust to the rich, easy-to-digest, Super Premium quality. A sudden change in any food source may be a shock to your dog's digestive system. You may notice loose stool. If so, reduce the amount being fed until your dog adjusts. Feed your dog twice a day. Food requirements vary depending on climate, breed of dog, and exercise activity. Feed an amount that will maintain your dog's weight.
