Story: Maggie was originally purchased by The Guide Dogs for the Blind. She was
raised for her first year and a half by a friend of mine who has raised two
other guide dogs. Maggie went into training at the Guide Dogs for the three-month training program at one-and-a-half years old. Maggie passed all the
training sections but failed the last one. She became distracted while
walking and wanted to run after leaves that were blowing in the street.
The Guide Dogs have a policy that if a dog does not pass the training the
person who raised it would have first option to own. I had asked my friend
beforehand if she would consider giving her to me since she had two other
dogs. And she said yes! Maggie was given to me and we have been happy family
ever since. |
