Story: I adopted Macy back in December, 2001. I was out
Christmas shopping, and my next stop was to the newly opened Macy's
Dept. Store (hence the name of my dog), but I saw a puppy adoptions
sign that caught my eye, and decided to go check it out. There were
over 20 people standing in line waiting to see 5 beautiful puppies for
adoption. I was one of the first 10 to complete an application. Macy
was the mommy. She just sat next the the pen with her 5 pups while
everyone played with her babies. Then I asked if I could take Macy
(called Mommy by the crew) for a walk to tell her about my selection
and to get to know her. I was told that she was a stray, that someone
found her when she was pregnant. As I walked Macy around the store and
talked to her, I was in awe of her warm and responsive behavior. I
returned her and went next door to do more shopping. Since I knew that
had to wait a couple of weeks to get my new puppy, I kept thinking
about Macy (Mommy), that I would be taking one of her babies, and that
I should get to know her too. So, wouldn't you know I went back and
asked if I could take her for another walk. That's when I was asked if
I'd like to adopt her. I hesitated because they said she was a stray, but
I thought she's such a good dog. I signed the adoption papers with the
option to return her within 30 days. Well, the rest is history because
she's been with me ever since. Macy is the best dog I've ever had! |
