Hershey On the Slopes with Wes Training for Avalanche Rescue Hershey Breed: Labrador Retriever/Poodle Gender: Female Special Skills or Responsibilities: We are a certified avalanche dog team in Gallatin County, Montana, as well as being professional ski patrol at the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky. Hershey spends her days at the top of a mountain, ready to respond to an avalanche in or out of bounds. We are capable of flying in and under a helicopter to the location of such an incident. We also put on demonstrations periodically for the public, but mostly we train and play. We even were put in a scene with Kevin Bacon in an HBO movie called "Taking Chance" that is soon going to be released. We have a fun time. Story: Hershey and I rescued each other when she was 13 months old. From day one there was no doubt she was destined to be K/9 and companion.
