"What was that?"
Lucy at 10 Years

Breed: German Shorthaired PointerWeight: 68 pounds
Gender: Female
Favorite Food: Lucy likes most anything, including Flint River Potato and Trout, as she is allergic to grain.
Favorite Activities: She enjoys running in the yard.
Favorite Place to Sleep: She likes to sleep on her bed big enough for a small child!
Special Skills or Responsibilities: She's a good agility dog. She became my mother’s companion and protector after my father passed away.
Story: Lucy was turned in to a shelter in NC. Rescued from there by GSP rescue group in Sykesville Maryland. I adopted her from them.
Lucy has always needed a job. After my dad died my mom’s house was broken into. Mom would not move or come to live with me so the only solution was to give Lucy the job of protector. She went to live with my mom and she really understood that her job was to take care of her. She does it so well. Rarely leaves my mother’s side. Answers the door with her and barks to let her know that something strange is outside. Often it is just a limb tapping the side of the house but at other times it’s that visitor on the front porch. I see Lucy (and Mom) every Sunday. We still have our bond. I am so grateful she came into my life.
