Cassie (left), Lexi, and Smokey |
Smokey |
Breed: Shetland Sheepdog | Gender: Male |
Favorite Food: They all love Flint River Ranch and have high energy and pep since they've been on it. They
love all food, especially cheese and popcorn (no salt of course!). |
Favorite Activities: He loves to come to the country with me. I have a horse, and
Smokey likes to jump the low horse jumps out in the country. |
Special Skills or Responsibilities: Smokey is good
at calming people down, and creating a sense of safety. I am a family
therapist, and after 9/11, I brought Smokey to my office when I was meeting
with children. They petted him and he sat close to them, and they said he
made them feel safe again. |
Story: Smokey was rescued by the Human Society from a terrible abusive home. I
adopted him when he was 1 year old. He has healed totally and is outgoing
and sociable.
His story is remarkable. You can read it at
www.dogforme.com . Just click onto Happy Tails! |
They are all adopted from our local Sheltie Rescue group. |
Cassie |
Breed: Shetland Sheepdog | Gender: Female |
Favorite Activities: Cassie and Lexi are retired show dogs, living the life of leisure! They are half sisters. They like to stay home together, lying on soft rugs, after their busy lives of fame and fortune in the show ring!! |
Special Skills or Responsibilities: Cassie is trained as an Animal Companion Dog to go into nursing homes and hospitals. |
Cassie is largely deaf and blind, but full
of pep and healthy otherwise. Before I fed the dogs Flint River Ranch, she had low energy and bad breath, even though the dogs were on a reportedly good dog food. After 3 weeks on Flint River Ranch, her breath is sweet, and she runs
and spins in the yard like she was a puppy! |
