Fancy Mice Love Kibble Too!
Rosie at 2 Years

Schatzi at 11 Years

Dakota at 5 Years

Breed: German Shepherd DogWeight: 70 pounds
Gender: Female
Favorite Food: Senior Plus Kibble—Schatzi is no longer a finicky eater. She prances and bounces like a puppy when it is food time. No longer do I have to entice her to eat, and no longer does she leave food in her dish.
Favorite Activities: Both dogs love to go on snow walks.
Favorite Place to Sleep: They like to sleep all together on the dog bed.
Special Skills or Responsibilities: Schatzi is young at heart and does not act her age one bit. She and Dakota are both therapy dogs and enjoy visiting nursing homes, hospitals, and special ed. children.

Breed: German Shepherd DogWeight: 80 pounds
Gender: Male
Favorite Food: He likes Flint River Ranch Puppy and Adult Kibble.
Special Skills or Responsibilities: Schatzi and Dakota are retired therapy dogs. Dakota is trained in Schutzhund—he has earned his BH and AD, and SchH 1. He has also earned his CGC.
Story: Before Dakota was on Flint River Ranch food, he had horrible skin and ear problems. We were constantly going to the vet. We tried all sorts of specialty diets for dogs with allergies. None helped. I researched dog foods, decided Flint River Ranch was the best food for us, and have not regretted it since. Three months after he went on Flint River Ranch, Dakota's problems cleared up 100 percent—the only reason he has been to the vet since is for yearly shots.
Both dogs are therapy dogs and people are always commenting on how beautifully soft and shiny their fur is. I always have to agree. I tell everyone my dogs are in perfect health thanks to good German breeding, and Flint River Ranch.

Breed: Domestic Shorthair CatWeight: 12 pounds
Gender: Male
Favorite Activities: Hobbes is obsessed with Q-tips.
Story: Hobbes was one of four kittens born at a friend's barn. He was going to stay and be a barn cat, but he started terrorizing the horses by jumping on their backs and climbing up their tails while they were being tacked up. After several near stomping incidents, they decided Hobbes needed a new home. Now he is a happy house cat, gets the occasional walk on a leash, and rules the dogs with an iron paw.

We also give our two Fancy Mice your food about once a week. They will get either a cat kibble or dog kibble. They too love this special treat and will stand on their hind legs begging for their treats (usually they hide until the lid is closed on their cage!). They are also sleek and shiny.

For newer pictures of Schatzi, Dakota, and Hobbes, see entry 919. For a newer picture of Dakota, along with Axel the Chihuahua puppy and Pockets the calico cat, see entry 2531.

These pictures were taken when we lived in Kansas. Sadly, Schatzi passed away in 2007 at the age of 16, and Hobbes Kitty passed away in 2008.
